Soft-logic company informs about the implementation of its own software for self-service kiosks in the largest Russian chain of pet supplies, accessories and products – Four Paws.
Four Paws covers over 240 retail stores in 20 regions of Russia, includes one of the largest websites for pet products, where is about 25 000 items, chain has its own trademarks.
The main purpose of the implementation for the customer is to deploy online store functionality in a self-service kiosk and to put payment kiosk in a single omni-channel of retail network, which includes a website, a mobile application, retail outlets and a remote order service by phone.
A client can create an order from the entire products range presented through the kiosk interface and make a payment or use only the payment functionality to pay for orders already formed remotely through other network sales channels. Cash and/or bank card are available for payment, depending on the kiosk model.
After the user creates a shopping cart and confirms the payment amount, the customer’s website transfers control to the kiosk for making a payment using the simplest Json API call.
For authorization in the kiosk can be used not only the phone number or e-mail, but also the membership card, which is brought to the barcode scanner. Also after the successful purchase bonuses are automatically transfer to the card. Using customized rules for RFID cards and barcodes, the kiosk interface can redirect to specific website pages — open recommended and personalized offers, products of the day, etc.
Providing the software product in the “out-of-the-box” format Soft-logic specialists don’t need to perform additional refinements or provide specialized technical support, also don’t necessary to make major changes to the Four Paws website for its launch in the kiosk interface. The launch was actually carried out in the consultations form and the implementation period took only 3 weeks.
The project hardware partner of was TouchPlat, which is in long-term partnership with Soft-logic, provide a wide range of self-service kiosks and payment terminals. Thanks to partner support, the customer received an integrated hardware-software solution.
TouchPlat can offer customers a whole line of various kiosks models with support of cash (bill acceptors, dispensers, recyclers) and bank cards acceptance, various hardware components from global brands.
On June 9, in the Sokolniki Park, Moscow, Four Paws company carried out a first launch of kiosks as part of company’s own annual pets festival. Visitors were able to evaluate all the functionality of the new sales channel and place orders from the entire range of the distribution network “on the fly”.
A further strategy for using self-service kiosks at the customer’s network may include placing kiosks in retail stores to reduce staff costs and create an alternative channel in the existing omni-channel sales system. Kiosks are effectively used to increase the number of small-format points of sale (stores&warehouses) or at pick-up points. Also very effective separate installation of kiosks in high people flow areas, for example in shopping and entertainment centers. As a result, all conditions are created for the physical expansion of the retail network with minimal costs and risks for the business.
Advertising functionality of Soft-logic company software allows using widescreen kiosks as full-fledged Digital Signage panels with the placement of interactive banners and videos. The customer actively uses the kiosk interface when in idle to advertise their own offers and to attract the new customers attention – they can immediately use the kiosk to select and pay for goods.
Following the results of the implementation, the customer received an alternative product sales tool that effectively complements existing sales channels and meets all modern customer requirements. The solution significantly reduces the cost of administrative business processes and cash transactions. Using flexible customization options, there is possible unlimited functional improvements depending on market conditions and the retail network development strategy.
